The only attraction of its kind in Singapore, the park features nearly 2500 live butterflies spanning over 50 species. It also displays about 3000 species of some of the world's most beautiful and rare insects, including a live enclosure of fireflies.
You can view the blossoming of new life, in the Live Pupae house or amuse yourself in the company of creepy-crawlies in the Live Insect corner.
The park provides visitors a rare up-close encounter with over 5,000 fireflies at the Museum. Rare because the number of fireflies in Singapore is fast dwindling as their habitats have given way to urban development.
To make it possible for visitors to see them, the room is darkened in the day so that the fireflies will turn on their taillights. At night, the room is lit up for them to rest.
